The Latest Research on Women’s Preferences for Penis Size May Surprise You

Perfect penis size

Research on penis size has been done many times over the years. In fact, it’s been said that, aside from the brain, the male penis is perhaps the most studied organ in the history of medicine. It has certainly received a lot of attention in the wake of other studies regarding the efficacy and usability of penis extenders.

While efficacy has always been an issue men have wondered about when they’ve considered using an enlargement device, more often they’ve wondered if larger size is really what women want. Studies on the female perception and preferences when it comes to penis size are nothing new, but recently a new form of technology has made it easier than ever for women and researchers to explore what women want and the answers have been surprising.

A Little of This and a Little of That

Studies of the past have asked women to state their preferences when it comes to length and girth or to select from 2D images of flaccid penises. Neither of these methods were especially useful since women don’t exactly measure the men they sleep with and choosing a penis from photos of flaccid organs doesn’t tell us much either. But in a study published this past year, researchers have finally found the ideal way to have women show them what they want.

A team from the University of California, Los Angeles, asked 75 women to choose the penis size and shape they preferred from an array of 33 3-dimensional models created through 3D printing. Using these models, women were more easily and more accurately able to tell researchers what they preferred in their sexual partners for both one-time sexual experiences and from partners with whom they have a long term relationship.

The study found that women actually want very different things from their partners depending on how seriously they think the relationship is. For one-time or occasional partners (aka one-night stands or friends with benefits) women opted for a penis that was slightly above average with women choosing penis size that was about 6.4 inches in length and 5 inches in circumference. As they moved toward choosing what they preferred for long-term partners, that preference changed. When considering what they wanted in a long-term partner, however, women opted for men who measure up more in line with the national average.

So what does this mean for men consider enlargement via penis extenders? For some, it may mean they finally have some real insight into what most women are seeking depending on what they, themselves, want. Men looking for a long-term relationship may realize they won’t have to use penis extenders at all or not as long as they had intended while others can tailor their enlargement plans accordingly.

More to the point, this ground breaking study offers serious insight into the differences of casual and committed relationships. It also goes a long way to explaining why past studies have found such disparate results. The truth is that women don’t have one set ideal when it comes to what they want from men.

In addition to this study, others have found that women also vary what they want in terms of penis size based on a man’s overall body size. Essentially, women want a man with a penis that is proportionate to the rest of his body. For shorter, thinner men that means that using penis extenders could actually make them less attractive unless they combine those efforts with body building techniques to increase their overall body size.

In the end, studies such as this offer help for men who are chasing some ideal they think women have. They also give everyone a better understanding of how sexuality affects our preferences and desires which can help everyone experience a healthier and happier sex life.
